Ewald Walgenbach joined in 2008 from Bertelsmann AG where he has been a board member and CEO of the Direct Group division for five years after serving as COO for the group. He was previously at RTL Group for five years as board member, COO and deputy CEO. Previous positions include CEO of UFA Film+Fernseh, head of strategy for Bertelsmann AG, CEO of the chemical division of Boehringer Ingelheim and six years with the Boston Consulting Group. He holds a degree in biology from the University of Cologne and Max Planck institute for plant breeding research. He speaks German and English.
